HomeServicesAppsApp design

Every screen, planned in Figma.

We map your app's flows, design every screen in Figma and build a clickable prototype you can test on your own phone before development begins.

  • Clear user flows
  • Tested on your phone
  • Ready for developers

Apps designed screen by screen often end up with confusing flows, missing states and layouts that break on real phones. We design the whole flow first, then every screen and state, and test it on your phone before building.

From sketch to prototype.

Each stage builds on the last, so decisions are made early, while changes are still quick and cheap.

User flows

We map every path through the app, from first launch and sign up to settings, so nothing is left for developers to guess.

Wireframes

Simple grey layouts that settle structure and content first, so we agree what each screen does before choosing colours and type.

Interface design

Final screens in Figma that follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Material 3, built from a reusable component library.

Clickable prototype

A tappable prototype you open on your own phone, so you and a few real users can try the flow before any code exists.

Icon and launch screen

An app icon that reads clearly at small sizes, with layered versions for iOS and adaptive and themed icons for Android, plus a matching launch screen.

Every state covered

Empty, loading, error and offline states, plus Dark Mode and larger text sizes, so the app holds up in daily use.

Done properly.

The details that decide whether App design pays off.

Watching real people use it.

We ask a handful of your target users to complete key tasks in the prototype while we watch. AI helps us sort the session notes into themes, and a designer decides what changes.

Test summary

Example

Testers found class booking easily but hesitated on the plan selection screen. We suggest showing the recommended plan first and moving comparison details lower down. Flagged for the designer to review before the next round.

Checked by a person before it goes out

Handoff developers can build from.

Developers receive organised Figma files with named components, and with spacing, colours and type set as variables. Notes cover gestures, animations and edge cases, and the design system stays the single reference as the app grows.

How it works.

Clear steps, and you approve each one before we move on.

  1. 01

    Discover

We agree goals, users and the key tasks the app must make easy.

  2. 02

    Map

We map flows and wireframes so structure is settled before visual design.

  3. 03

    Design

We design every screen and state in Figma with a shared component library.

  4. 04

    Test

You and real users try the prototype on phones, then we refine it.

Example project

A pet care startup testing its app before building

The founder has a clear idea for booking dog walkers and sitters, but no screens yet. Before paying for development, they want something investors and early customers can try on a phone.

What we would do

  • Map booking flows for owners and walkers
  • Wireframe the core screens and agree structure
  • Design the interface and app icon in Figma
  • Test the prototype with target pet owners

An illustration of how we would approach it, not a client result.

What you would get

  • User flows for both user types
  • Full interface design in Figma
  • Clickable prototype for phones
  • Developer-ready design system

Questions, answered.

Do you design for iOS and Android differently?

Where it helps users, yes. We keep one brand and layout, then follow each platform's conventions for navigation, controls and icons, so the app feels familiar on iPhone and Android.

Can I test the design before development?

Yes. You get a clickable prototype that runs on your own phone through the Figma app. We also run short sessions with a few target users and refine the design before any code is written.

Can you design an app another team will build?

Yes. We hand over organised Figma files, a component library and notes on behaviour and states. We can also join calls with your developers to answer questions during the build.

How much does app design cost?

App design is quoted after a short call, with a fixed price agreed before we start. It usually takes a few weeks, and we agree a date before we start.

Tell us what you need. Charlie will come back with a plan and a price, usually within one working day.
