Android apps for every screen.

We build Android apps in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, or React Native, that follow Material 3, run smoothly on budget phones and meet Google Play policy.

  • Material 3 throughout
  • Smooth on budget phones
  • Google Play ready

Android runs on a huge range of phones, and apps tested only on one flagship often stutter or break on the rest. We design for every screen size and test on real budget, mid-range and flagship phones before release.

Built the Android way.

Each Android app we build uses Google's current tools and design system, so it feels familiar to people from the first tap.

Jetpack Compose interfaces

Screens built in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, Google's modern toolkit for native Android interfaces, which keeps the code clean and quick to change.

Material 3 design

Dynamic colour, Material components and the Material 3 Expressive updates, so your app matches the phone it runs on and respects each user's theme.

Adaptive layouts

Layouts that adjust for small phones, large phones, foldables and tablets, with edge-to-edge screens and predictive back gestures handled properly.

Google sign in

Sign in with Google accounts and passkeys through Credential Manager, so people log in quickly without typing passwords.

Notifications and widgets

Notifications sorted into channels people can control, and home screen widgets built with Jetpack Glance where a glance is enough.

Play policy compliance

We complete the Data safety form, request only the permissions you need and keep up with Google's target API level rules.

Done properly.

The details that decide whether Android apps pays off.

Tested on the phones people own.

We test on real budget, mid-range and flagship Android phones, plus foldables and tablets where they matter. After launch, Firebase Crashlytics and Android vitals in Google Play Console show crashes and slow screens, so we can fix them quickly.

Closed testing handled for you.

New personal developer accounts must run a closed test with real testers before going live. We set up the test tracks, recruit testers with you and gather their feedback, then apply for production access in Google Play Console.

AI summary

Example

Tester feedback this week centres on the sign up screen. The main themes are unclear password rules and a slow first load on older phones. Suggested fixes are drafted for the team to review.

How it works.

Clear steps, and you approve each one before we move on.

  1. 01

    Scope

We agree features, the devices to support and whether Kotlin or React Native fits.

  2. 02

    Design

We design screens to Material 3 and test a prototype on Android phones.

  3. 03

    Build

We build in short cycles and share test builds through Google Play tracks.

  4. 04

    Release

We run closed testing, handle Play review and stage the rollout to users.

Example project

A trades firm giving engineers an Android job app

Field engineers carry a mix of company Android phones and rugged devices, and job details arrive by text and paper sheets. The firm wants one app for jobs, photos and customer signatures, even with weak signal.

What we would do

  • Map the engineer's day from first job to sign-off
  • Design large, glove-friendly screens in Material 3
  • Build offline storage that syncs when signal returns
  • Test on the firm's actual handsets

An illustration of how we would approach it, not a client result.

What you would get

  • A Kotlin app for company phones
  • Offline jobs, photos and signatures
  • Private release through managed Google Play
  • Crash reporting and usage dashboard

Questions, answered.

Should my Android app use Kotlin or React Native?

Kotlin with Jetpack Compose suits apps that need deep Android features or the smoothest performance on low-end phones. React Native suits apps that also need an iPhone version. We recommend one after a short call.

Which Android phones will you test on?

We test on a spread of real devices, from budget phones to recent flagships, plus foldables and tablets if your users have them. We agree the device list with you during planning.

Do I need a Google Play developer account?

Yes. The app is published under your own Google Play Console account, so you keep ownership. We help you set it up and complete identity checks, closed testing and policy forms.

How much does an Android app cost?

Every Android app is quoted after a short call, with a fixed price agreed before we start. Updates and support after launch are covered by a fixed monthly fee.
